How much can rent increase in Louisiana?

Louisiana does not currently impose a statewide cap on rent increases. That means landlords can generally raise rent by any amount when a lease ends, as long as they provide proper notice. However, individual cities may have local rent control ordinances — check your municipality's rules.

Notice requirements

Louisiana requires landlords to give at least 10 days written notice before raising rent on a month-to-month tenant. For fixed-term leases, increases generally only take effect at renewal.
